Tanybryn in Welsh means ‘on the brow of the hill’ and that certainly fits this location high in the otways behind Apollo Bay. There is an art gallery with cafe, although not often open, and magnificent stands of Blackwood. The turnoff to Turtons road and its spectacular rainforest is nearby.
Tanybryn is often the last stop on a day trip out of Apollo Bay via Lavers Hill and Beech Forest, returning to Apollo Bay. This trip includes waterfalls, rainforest and the Otway Fly Treetop walk.
