From the intersection of Turton’s Track with Forrest-Apollo Bay Road, turn left and drive to Forrest and take Kaanglang Road for about 7 kilometres (about 30 minutes). From the carpark you have to walk over the landslip that formed Lake Elizabeth, so it is up then down for about 15 minutes. The mirror calm surface of Lake Elizabeth reflects giant tree ferns and the long dead trees drowned when the lake formed. There are platypuses in the lake, best seen at dawn. There are canoe tours operating from Apollo Bay.
Whether you have time to visit Lake Elizabeth on the rainforest circuit will depend on the time spent at The Otway Fly. If you decide to take the extra time to do the Zipline Tour you probably won’t have time to include lake Elizabeth. From the end of Turton’s Track it is about 1.5 hours to include the return drive and walk to the lake.Tweet
