Apollo Bay main beach

The Apollo Bay main beach runs in an arc for 4 kms from the harbour in town to the mouth of Wild Dog Creek.  The low dunes along most of its length screen the beach from the town so that walking on the beach you feel like you are the first person to discover this place.  With crashing surf, endless skies and green hills this long walk is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

You will probably encounter surfers and people fishing off the beach in Apollo Bay.  The stories are always entertaining.

For those wanting firmer footing there is a gravel path running along the dunes.
