The main beach runs in an arc for 4 kms from the harbour in town to the mouth of Wild Dog Creek. The low dunes along most of its length screen the beach from the town so that walking on the beach you feel like you are the first person to discover this place.

Apollo Bay

Though Apollo Bay hosts large numbers of touring visitors through the year and is a summer holiday favourite for Victorians, the town has retained its flavour as a working fishing village. The small permanent population benefits from the excellent range of dining options that tourism has made possible. There are 2 pubs, more than a dozen restaurants, several take out food outlets and the fishermens' co-operative sells fresh fish at the harbour. Locals and visitors alike are drawn by the natural beauty of village, beaches and those impossibly green hills.
