After lunch the sea meets the rainforest with spectacular outlooks combined with interesting villages, refreshment stops and short walks. Then the green rolling hills and glorious beach of Apollo Bay. Assuming you start in Melbourne allow two and three quarter hours driving time plus sightseeing.

We are the proprietors of Sandpiper Motel and Comfort Inn The International motel in Apollo Bay. Development of this site is our response to the frustration of many guests that they have not allowed enough time to experience the Great Ocean Road region. Our bias is that we want you to stay with us in Apollo Bay, but we think that also makes sense on a typical driving holiday in the region. There is no paid advertising on the site.  We have selected all the entries to assist you to plan your vacation in the region.  Where possible we have provided ratings of tourism standards agencies and online consumer review sites.  There are opportunities throughout the site for you to add your opinion to assist other visitors.
